Paddle Diva’s SUP WISE Program is an intensive week of water safety and paddling designed for kids ages 9 to 14. This is an accredited program through the Academy of Surfing Instructors, a globally recognized institution. The kids will learn all the necessary Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) skills required to be safe in and on the water. This program is S-U-P-er fun! A completely immersive experience, Paddle Diva’s SUP WISE Program will teach kids much more than how to paddleboard. Kids will learn necessary water safety skills and gain vital knowledge about ways to keep our harbors, bays, and inlets pristine and thriving. As the next generation of ambassadors for a healthy sustainable planet, this program provides kids with clinics on sustainability and the effect of climate change on our waterways and oceans.

This program will be limited to 10 “ambassadors” a week.  Scroll down for pictures and more details.

Through a mix of games, activities, and instruction, kids will be taken through the SUP WISE program developed by the Academy of Surfing Instructors (ASI), the world’s leading organization for surfing and stand up paddleboarding. All participants will receive an ASI Level 1 SUP certification at the end of the first week. Those who continue on for a second week will learn the skills necessary to gain a Level 2 certification and have the opportunity to get Level 2 certified. For an in depth understanding of our local waters and environment, we will visit the Town of East Hampton Shellfish hatchery, have a Q&A session with Marine Patrol, and hear a presentation on maintaining healthy oceans sponsored by the Surfrider Foundation and Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project. Also, because eating locally is part of living sustainability, healthy snacks will be provided by Vicki’s Veggies of Amagansett and Simply Sublime.

All instructors are enthusiastic, lifeguard trained, ASI-certified paddle boarders who love teaching as much as paddling. This is not a camp – it is an adventure that empowers your kids with a greater knowledge of their natural environment and builds their confidence through the awesome experience of stand up paddling! No previous experience necessary.
