Hellooo 2017!

New Year’s around the corner and we couldn’t be more excited! The festive season is not just about joy and celebration but about sharing and caring too, so why not we give some thought to feed the hungry?

The East Hampton Food Pantry is back with its Annual Polar Bear Plunge event! Did you know? One in ten East Hampton families doesn’t have enough food! The East Hampton Food Pantry feeds over 33,000 people every year. This New Year’s Day, let’s join hands together in the fight against hunger!

About the Event:

The 16th Annual Polar Bear Plunge, brought to you by the East Hampton Ocean Rescue Squad, is scheduled to happen on January 1st 2017, 1 PM at the main beach in East Hampton. This fundraising event is meant to combat hunger in the East Hampton community and to feed those in need. All participants (a.k.a Plungers) shall ask their friends and neighbors for sponsorships, with all proceeds going to The East Hampton Food Pantries. Each plunger must donate at least $35.

How can you be a Part?

If you’re interested to take part in the event, register your names. Registrations will be held between 11.30 am and 12.30 pm on January 1st. Registration will be free for those who have collected at least $35! All donations made are 100% tax-deductible and are to be made via checks payable to East Hampton Food Pantry, Inc.

NOTE: Participants under 18 must have their waivers signed by a parent. If parents are absent during plunge, waivers shall be obtained before January 1st. For plungers under 12, attendance of parents is mandatory.

Ready to Plunge?

If you are planning to go in the water, you must sign a waiver before you do. You could also choose your friends to be a part of your Polar Bear Plunge Team and even assign a special name and special clothing to your team. What’s more? Prizes will be offered for the best costumes! Free refreshments such as coffee, hot chocolate, chilli, soup and hot dogs will be provided for plungers.

The East Hampton Food Pantry endeavors to address hunger in the town of East Hampton. Let us kick start the new year by plunging for a good cause. For more information, call 631-324-2300 or drop us a line at easthamptonfoodpantry@yahoo.com
